After a two year break, the Tremplin Blues sur Seine made its much awaited return last night for its twenty sixth edition. The event once again highlighted four finalist bands selected on application by a jury of professionals and journalists.
On stage, four different approaches to the blues and great energy shared with the audience. At the end of the evening, the jury named Etage 70 as the winner of the Tremplin Blues sur Seine. The evening was hosted by Marc Loison (My Rock Years on Blues Actu Radio).
Etage 70, 2025 Winner
Etage 70, a Paris based band, brings together four young musicians including two guitarists aged 20 and 24. Their knowledge of the blues is impressive, with influences ranging from the sixties to the seventies and Led Zeppelin and Stevie Ray Vaughan as major references for their original French language songs. The band reacted for Blues Actu:
“Winning this competition is a beautiful reward for us. It is the first recognition of the work we’ve done so far and a huge motivation for everything we still want to accomplish. We were very happy to bring our music to life on stage. Knowing that it resonated with both the audience and the jury, especially considering the quality of the other bands, is a priceless victory.” Etage 70
On stage, the band moves between high energy moments, spontaneity and more intimate passages. Their 70s inspired look and natural stage presence made a strong impression and clearly influenced the jury’s decision.
Three other finalists to watch
Lemmy’s Tribe delivered a very tight performance. The frontman, with a Hendrix inspired look, impressed with his technique and stage presence despite his young age. The rhythm section, perfectly in sync, gave the trio a strong and cohesive sound.
Lost Kaban stood out with a raw, instinctive and nervous blues. The band embraces a wide range of influences, from Hendrix to The Doors, creating a sound that leans toward rock and improvisation.
Pie Junc offered an original musical world blending folk, gospel and cinematic atmospheres. The band focuses heavily on collective work, contrasts and a few well placed surprises on stage.
“I was delighted to witness the emergence of new talents. Festival directors should come in greater numbers to discover bands here, because this is where it all begins. Seeing the Tremplin come back to life is a true blessing for musicians, whether they are just starting out or already more established. And I want to add that the three other bands have everything it takes to go far if they keep working with the same dedication they showed tonight!” – Marc Loison
A revelation prize to support Etage 70
As the winner, Etage 70 will receive support to help develop their career, increase their visibility and expand their presence on national stages.
The band will perform at several festivals in 2026, including Blues sur Seine, Au Grès du Jazz, Jazz à Vienne, Cup of Blues and La Maison du Blues in Châtres sur Cher. A great opportunity to continue their rise. There is no doubt we will be hearing more about this band!
There are still few videos online for this young band, but ten days before the festival they posted some rehearsal footage on their Instagram account…
The Blues sur Seine festival runs until November 22. Full program here.
