Exclusive premiere: “No Way Back”, the new video by Marco Bartoccioni

At Blues Actu, we like to follow artists who take paths off the beaten track. Today, we’re happy to bring you an exclusive: the first broadcast of the video for No Way Back, the new single by musician Marco Bartoccioni.

An Italian artist known for his deep and personal playing, Marco Bartoccioni has built a career at the crossroads of blues, southern rock and soul influences. A multi-instrumentalist based in Rome, he has been developing for several years a musical universe that embraces both the heritage of blues roots and a very modern approach to production. No Way Back marks an important milestone in his career. The song deals with the idea that there are life choices you cannot go back on, a theme the artist sees as central, both in his music and in the way he approaches his work. He talks about it in a short interview further down the page.

Bartok, the 4th album by Marco Bartoccioni, will be released on June 5, 2026.

🎤 3 questions to Marco Bartoccioni

This video aims to highlight the importance of played music at a time when it is going through a very difficult period. With the rise of “liquid” music, musical production is losing its meaning. Playing live, making music in analog, with great passion and commitment, is for me an important message to communicate. We musicians carry an important responsibility in this. The lyrics of the song address this in a metaphorical way. Written by me and Cristina Manzotti, they say that in life we take paths and make decisions from which we often cannot go back, and this applies both to music and to life in general.

It’s true that I recorded the entire album playing all the instruments, except for the drums, which were played by Piero Pierantozzi. This decision was made for several reasons. The first is that I strongly identify with the recording process: it’s something I enjoy immensely, immersing myself completely in my mind and in what it has to say. Recording makes me feel very good; creation is for me a moment of true peace and pleasure. And as a multi-instrumentalist, this was the first reason that pushed me to do it. The second reason is that I firmly believe that when you are a multi-instrumentalist, you have a broader vision of the “song.” It becomes more obvious when an instrument should play and when it shouldn’t. The mind shaping everything is a single one, and everything sometimes ends up sounding more coherent.

This album is titled Bartok, my nickname, so it is in a way the maximum expression of myself, of who I am, in a raw, bare and above all sincere way. I wanted to put my entire self into this record, completely. With the first single No Way Back, I wanted to convey exactly this message: this is who I am, for better or worse, whether people like it or not, I’m putting my face and my full identity into this work!
