Wild Ones Never Die

Thomas Frank Hopper

Release date: September 18, 2026
Label: Self-released
Tracklist: 10 tracks

With this new album, Thomas Frank Hopper forges a rock-solid identity while offering the perfect introduction to his music.

The sound is authentic, occasionally vintage, and listeners will delight in diving back into the world of the early albums by Rival Sons, John Butler Trio, Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown and Wolfmother.

But rest assured, those comparisons fade after a few listens. Surrounded by a particularly strong band, the Belgian guitarist draws inspiration from rock’s golden years and revisits them brilliantly. Far from simply reproducing the past, he adds a highly personal stamp and an extra touch of soul. The result is inspired, far more surprising than expected, and perfectly bridges the gap between blues and classic rock.

Each musician seems to have found their place, and every one of them makes a genuine contribution to the compositions without excessively flaunting their technique, although you can sense that they still have plenty in reserve. While the talent of these performers is obvious and seems to protect them from taking a wrong step, that alone is not enough to make a great album.

Needless to say, every track here is excellent, and the album has plenty to offer in that respect. Everything brims with fiery riffs and a solid rhythm section.

With ten new tracks under their belt, Thomas Frank Hopper and his bandmates set out against all odds to conquer the world. They brush aside the competition thanks in particular to a fine balance serving a spontaneity and chemistry that are all too rare these days.

Arno’s verdict

I would have liked to have mixed feelings and to be less enthusiastic, because after all, perfection does not exist. But this record is a great success that deserves to be in everyone’s hands.
